Suspect Nabbed In Stabbing Death At Popular Park In Hudson Valley

A 51-year-old is behind bars after being charged in connection with the stabbing death of another man in a popular park in the region.

Dutchess County resident Shrone Wright of Poughkeepsie was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 13, for the Wednesday, Nov. 6 murder at Pershing Park. 

The name of the victim has not been released.

According to Det. Lt. Sean McCarthy of the Poughkeepsie Police, following a comprehensive investigation led by the Detective Bureau, the arrest was made with support from the Neighborhood Recovery Unit, Patrol Division, and the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit.

Wright has been charged with murder and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail, McCarthy said.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
